Irrational Image Generator
I made this project for my Master’s thesis at Vienna Technical University. In a cooperation with artist Hofstetter Kurt I created a tool that enabled him to generate non-periodic artworks from so-called prototiles using his patented “Inductive Rotation” method.

During the course of the project I met with the artist several times and made sure the tool met his requirements.
After the thesis was published I continued to meet with Hofstetter Kurt and he discussed other ideas with me. I later created a tool called “IR ColorGen” that was used to generate patterns for electronic Jacquard weaving machines based on Inductive Rotation. The resulting textile fabric was put on display during various exhibitions.
